(December 27, 2010)  Firefighters are investigating the cause of an early morning fire at the Holiday Inn Frisco, 3400 Parkwood.

Firefighters received the call at 7:13 a.m. this morning.  When firefighters arrived, they found fire in the hotel lobby on the first floor.  Investigators say the fire started in and around the fireplace, also located in the first floor lobby.

From the first floor, fire moved into the ceiling above the fireplace and heavy smoke moved to the hotel’s second and third floors.

Eleven units are on the scene, including Special Operations, seven engines and an ambulance.  No one was hurt.

Firefighters continue to ventilate the hotel so guests can return to their rooms.
