Gas line flare scheduled for this afternoon

(December 18, 2013) This afternoon, December 18, Atmos utility crews will be clearing (or flaring) a natural gas line located at 4th Army Memorial Road and Lebanon Road in Frisco. The flaring will begin at 3 p.m. and may last two to four hours. The flaring is related to the recent construction of a 20” gas transmission line in the area.

As a result, residents and passersby may see a large flame (or ‘flaring’) - and hear a loud noise. Nearby residents may also smell gas. The flaring may be visible to people in The Colony and Little Elm.

The flaring originally was scheduled for earlier in the day, according to an Atmos press release.
