Gas leak stopped; two lanes of Preston reopened 

Update 4 p.m.: The Preston Road lanes closed for the gas line repair are now open.

(March 21, 2014) UPDATE 12:25 p.m.: A natural gas main leak at 5245 Preston Road has been stopped. The 6-inch line was damaged by a construction crew, and two lanes of traffic on Preston Road were closed as a safety precaution. The lanes will remain closed until later this afternoon, while Atmos Energy makes the final repairs to the line. 

Frisco Fire Department was dispatched at 9:05 a.m. A hazardous material unit was sent to the scene. But no residences or businesses needed to be evacuated.

 

(March 21, 2014 - 10:50 a.m.) Frisco Fire Department is on the scene of a reported gas leak at 5245 Preston Road. A repair crew from Atmos Energy is headed to the scene. The 6-inch natural gas main was damaged by a construction crew.

Two lanes of traffic on Preston Road, north of Lebanon, have been closed to traffic. A hazardous material unit is on the scene. There have been no evacuations of neighboring residences or businesses at this time. We will post more information as it becomes available.
