GAS SHUTOFF AFTER NATURAL GAS LEAK DISCOVERED AT RESTAURANT

(September 29, 2013)  The gas has been shut off and repair crews are working to determine the cause of a natural cause leak in a restaurant kitchen area that resulted in the evacuation of three businesses this afternoon.

At 11:59 p.m., Frisco Firefighters responded to an ‘odor investigation’ at 3685 Preston Rd., Suite 159 where several patrons of Massage Envy complained of nausea and headaches.

Upon arrival (12:00:53 p.m.), firefighters determined the gas was coming from the kitchen area of a neighboring restaurant, The Dive, located at Suite 167.

As a result, firefighters evacuated approximately two dozen people at the two businesses, as well as patrons and employees of Palm Beach Tan.

Gas was shut off and firefighters ventilated the building. Firefighters treated seven patients at the scene.  No one was transported. Firefighters have given business patrons and employees the ‘okay’ to return to the buildings.

Two engines, FFDs Specials Operations unit, HAZMAT and an ambulance responded to the call.

CoServ repair crews will work to determine the source of the leak and make repairs.
