(March 17, 2011) NTTA’s construction of the Sam Rayburn Tollway (SRT)/Dallas North Tollway (DNT) interchange is triggering a set of frontage road closures beginning 9:00 p.m. Saturday night, March 19, continuing all day Sunday, and ending at 6:00 a.m. Monday morning, March 21. The details of each closure are described below and NTTA has provided a map of these closures and the detour routes… view the map.
Southbound Dallas Parkway will be closed between Gaylord Parkway and SH 121 starting at 9:00 p.m. Saturday night, March 19. The frontage road is expected to reopen by 6:00 a.m. Monday morning, March 21. During this closure, southbound traffic on Dallas Parkway will be allowed to enter the southbound DNT just south of Gaylord Parkway, but all other southbound traffic will have to take an alternate route. Southbound traffic that wants to continue south on Dallas Parkway or turn onto northeast-bound SH 121 should go east on Gaylord Parkway and use Parkwood Boulevard as a detour. Southbound traffic that wants to turn onto southwest-bound SH 121 should go west on Warren Parkway and use Legacy Drive to go around the closure. Residents of Stonebriar Creek Estates will need to use their entrance on Legacy Drive.
The southbound Dallas North Tollway exit ramp to SH 121 will also be closed while the frontage road is closed. Southbound DNT motorists heading for SH 121 should exit earlier at Warren Parkway and then use Legacy Drive or Parkwood Boulevard as an alternate route.
The southwest-bound SH 121 frontage road will be closed between Dallas Parkway and Dallas Parkway and Legacy Drive starting at 9:00 p.m. Saturday night, March 19. The frontage road is expected to reopen by 6:00 a.m. Monday morning, March 21. During this closure, detour signs will divert southwest-bound frontage road traffic around the closure by going south on Parkwood Boulevard, west on Headquarters Drive, and north on Legacy Drive to return to the southwest-bound SH 121 frontage road.
Motorists are urged to use caution in the construction zone and to seek an alternate route in advance.
