Frisco Freedom Fest Still Happening as Planned Today, July 3

(July 3, 2010) Gather up your family and friends, and join us today for the 9th Annual Frisco Freedom Fest. It’s a little soggy, but we are still planning an evening of fun. The festival begins at 4 p.m. with the Party in the Plaza in Simpson Plaza at Frisco Square, located southeast of the Dallas North Tollway and Main Street.

There is free parking at Pizza Hut Park.  View the parking map here.  Free parking is also available in the grassy areas around Frisco Square, but the ground is wet. We recommend you park at Pizza Hut Park, which is paved. Several streets in the area directly around City Hall and the Frisco Public Library are closed to traffic. Click here for road closures.

Admission to Party in the Plaza is FREE! New this year at Frisco Freedom Fest:

·         ‘Flippenout – Extreme Gymnastics Exhibition’ - This extreme trampoline show will dazzle the crowd with professional athletes using skis and snowboards to soar 25 feet in the air while executing triple flips and twists.

·         Patriotic Puppet Show – Children will laugh and clap while American animals come to life.

·         Paint the car Red, White and Blue Art Car Experience – Aspiring young artists can let their painting skills go wild decorating part of an actual car. Mom & Dad – aprons are provided & the paint is washable!

Some of the Children’s Expo amusements have a cost, as do drinks and the food items sold by Taste of Frisco vendors.

While you enjoy the festival you’ll be entertained by some of Frisco’s best local talent performing live on the Community Stage. From country to pop to hip hop the acts will have you dancing and signing along.

Tickets for the FC Dallas vs. Kansas City Wizards game are available at FCDallas.com or at the ticket windows at Pizza Hut Park. Game time is 7:30 p.m.

Be ready to be wowed by one of the biggest and brightest fireworks shows in North Texas. This year the Fireworks Extravaganza will be synchronized to a patriotic soundtrack provided by 97.5 KLAK.  The explosion of color is to begin approximately between 9:30 p.m.  – 9:45 p.m., following the FC Dallas game. The 20-minute, high-aerial show is visible from Pizza Hut Park and the area around Frisco Square. Since the grass is a little wet, you may want to bring a chair if you will be watching in Frisco Square.

Please remember - pets are not allowed. For a complete list of the day’s activities please go to FriscoFreedomFest.org.
