(November 15, 2011) The final two direct-connecting ramps at the Sam Rayburn Tollway (SRT)/Dallas North Tollway (DNT) interchange are now open. These new ramps allow traffic on the southbound Dallas North Tollway to exit directly to either the northeast-bound or southwest-bound SRT. This will create new traffic patterns on the main lanes of the DNT and the SRT so motorists are urged to use caution in the area as people become accustomed to the new traffic patterns.
All of the direct-connecting ramps are now open at the SRT/DNT interchange, which has significantly reduced the amount of traffic traveling through the signalized intersection of the Dallas Parkway and SH 121 frontage roads. However, additional work is necessary to complete the interchange. Therefore, motorists should still expect nighttime and weekend closures of portions of the main lanes and/or frontage roads through the end of the year.
