CANDIDATE INFORMATION PACKETS AVAILABLE ONLINE
(February 1, 2011) Candidate information packets, which detail the minimum requirements for filing for office, are available to download online beginning today, February 1. Go to FriscoTexas.gov/elections for directions.
Candidates interested in running for Frisco City Council may file for a place on the May 2011 ballot beginning February 14. The last day to file for Frisco City Council is Monday, March 14 at 5 p.m.
Three seats, including the mayoral position and Places 5 and 6, will be open. All positions on the Frisco City Council are “at large” positions. Candidates must live in the City of Frisco one year prior to filing. Anyone interested in viewing a candidate packet will be required to fill out a basic online form first.
The candidate packet includes the official forms that must be printed, filled out, signed and returned to the City Secretary’s Office by March 14 at 5 p.m. in order to officially file as a candidate for Frisco City Council.
Printed candidate packets will not be available to ‘pick up’ at City Hall; however, a limited number of copies will be available to read at the City Secretary’s Office, located on the 5th Floor of City Hall inside the George A. Purefoy Municipal Complex, 6101 Frisco Square Blvd. Candidate packets are available to view between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
