(August 1, 2011) The SRT/DNT interchange closures scheduled for tonight, Monday, August 1, include both directions of the Dallas North Tollway near the Sam Rayburn Tollway and the northeast-bound SRT exit ramp to Parkwood Boulevard. The closures begin at 10:00 p.m. tonight and will end by 5:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. The details of each closure are described below:
The southbound Dallas North Tollway main lanes will be closed between SH 121 and Headquarters Drive in Plano. Southbound traffic will be diverted onto the southbound Dallas Parkway frontage road at SH 121 and will be able to re-enter the DNT at Legacy Drive in Plano.
The northbound Dallas North Tollway main lanes will be closed between Headquarters Drive in Plano and Gaylord Parkway. Northbound traffic will be diverted onto the northbound Dallas Parkway frontage road and will be able to re-enter the DNT at Gaylord Parkway.
The northeast-bound SRT exit ramp to Parkwood Boulevard will be closed. Northeast-bound traffic on SRT wishing to reach Parkwood Boulevard should use the exit ramp to Preston Road and make a u-turn to reach Parkwood Boulevard.
Motorists are urged to use caution in the construction zone and to choose an alternate route in advance.
These road closures are part of NTTA’s interchange construction project which is prompting a series of overnight closures that will occur each weeknight in August. Depending on the contractor’s schedule, a different combination of main lanes and/or frontage roads will be closed each night. Daily updates of each closure are available on www.ntta.org by clicking on “general lane and ramp closures” and the City of Frisco will announce each night’s closure as the information becomes available.
