2. 2023 JUNIOR POLICE ACADEMY VOLUNTEER APPLICATION
4. The Frisco Police Department is now accepting applications for VOLUNTEERS who would like to assist with the Junior Police Academy. Volunteers must be enrolled in Frisco ISD schools and must have completed 8th grade to be eligible. Students who have attended JPA in the past as a cadet are preferred, but not required. Volunteers must successfully complete a background check. Officers will complete paperwork on community service hours that can be used through FISD as well as other organizations. The show up time each day will be at 8:30 a.m. and the academy ends at 4:30 p.m. Volunteers must be able to attend all four days of the week they are selecting to volunteer. Volunteers will need to bring their lunch each day & provide their own transportation to and from Griffin Middle School.
6. Volunteers will assist with the following duties
   Role playing, setting up activities, assisting officers to run academy activities, assisting officers with clean up, and any tasks which may arise during the course of camp.

By checking "YES", I fully understand and my son/daughter fully understands that participation and transportation during the Frisco Police Department’s Junior Police Academy Summer Camp Program could result in bodily injury, serious bodily injury, illness or death. Although I fully appreciate these risks, I desire my child to participate in the Frisco Police Department’s Junior Police Academy Summer Camp Program without regard of the consequences. I, the undersigned, assume full and complete responsibility for any accident, injury or illness and or activity that may occur to my child as a result of their participation. I agree to and hereby release, hold harmless, and waive all claims that I, or my child may have against the Frisco Police Department, City of Frisco, Frisco I.S.D., or any of its employees, agents, sponsors, representatives, or volunteers from all legal injury, illness or death and or activities arising from or connected in any manner to my child’s participation in the Frisco Police Department’s Junior Police Academy Summer Camp Program, including but not limited to liability, damages, legal fees and or costs caused by or related to the negligence or the intentional act of the Frisco Police Department, City of Frisco, Frisco I.S.D., or anyone of its employees, agents, sponsors, representatives, or volunteers in whole or in part. This release shall be binding on my heirs, legatees, administrates, and assigns. *

52. The volunteer application period will close on Sunday, May 7, 2023. Upon reviewing the applications, JPA Coordinators will contact volunteers selected and advise them which week they will be helping. A code of conduct contract will be emailed to both the student and parent/guardian, and both parties are required to sign and return the contract to a JPA Coordinator. Those not selected to be a volunteer will be contacted via email by Friday, May 12.
