Hickory Street closure beginning June 8; scheduled to reopen June 15

(June 7, 2023) Hickory Street will be closed east of Preston Road for a week starting Thursday morning, June 8, at 9:00 a.m. so that new utilities can be extended under the road. The road is expected to reopen on Thursday, June 15, at the end of the day. During this closure no traffic will be allowed on the first block of Hickory Street east of Preston Road (see attached map). Hutson Drive should be used as an alternate route. Motorists in the Meadows of Preston neighborhood on the east end of Hickory Street can use Peacock Lane and Towne Bridge to reach Hutson Drive. Motorists in the Queens Gate and Preston Hutson neighborhoods can use Sitka Street and False Pass Drive to reach Hutson Drive (see attached map). Detour signs will be posted.

Motorists are urged to use caution in the work zone and to seek an alternate route in advance.
