Fire Disrupts 'DIY' Trash Disposal at Custer Road Transfer Station April 9 & 10

(April 9, 2021) A fire at the Custer Road Transfer Station in Plano is disrupting  “do it yourself’ trash disposal through tomorrow, Saturday, April 10. This morning’s fire closed the facility's grind site and is causing delays in processing bulk trash.

Yard waste collection may also be delayed for Frisco residents serviced on Fridays. Any delay in pick up today, will be pushed to Monday’s collection. Friday’s regularly scheduled residential trash and recycling collection is not impacted.

Here are some options for residents needing to drop off bulk trash today, 4/9 or tomorrow, 4/10:

  • Drop trash to the Plano Parkway Transfer Station, located at 4030 W. Plano Parkway. Frisco residents are allowed two free trash drop offs per month.
  • Residents with yard waste can drop up to 10 bags or bundles per household to Frisco’s Environmental Collection Center, located at 6616 Walnut St., today through 4:00 p.m. and tomorrow from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

You are required to show your current Frisco water bill and driver’s license at the time of service.

Operations at the Custer Road Transfer Station are expected to resume on Monday, April 12.
